Upgrading or Changing Your Hosting Plan (Firstserv)

You can upgrade or adjust your hosting plan at any time through your Firstserv Client Area.

Any unused time remaining on your current plan will be taken into account when calculating the cost of your upgrade or downgrade, ensuring you receive fair value.

Instant Plan Changes (No Downtime)

The following changes are typically instant and do not cause any interruption to your services:

  • Switching between Cloud hosting plans (e.g. Amethyst ↔ Ruby)
  • Switching between Business hosting plans (e.g. Sapphire, Diamond, Tanzanite)

No changes are made to your underlying cPanel account, meaning:

  • Your websites and emails remain unaffected
  • Only the resource limits and quotas are adjusted
  • Changes take effect immediately after payment is completed

Platform Changes (Migration Required)

If you switch between:

  • Cloud hosting
  • Business hosting
  • Reseller hosting

your account will need to be migrated to a different platform.

In these cases:

  • A Firstserv technician will carry out the migration
  • The work will be scheduled at a time agreed with you
  • You will need to raise a support ticket to begin the process

Changing Your Billing Cycle

If you switch between monthly and yearly billing, the change will take effect at your next renewal date.

For example:

  • If you have time remaining on your current plan, you will receive a pro-rata credit
  • You will then be charged for the new plan accordingly
  • The new billing cycle begins once your current term ends

Changing Plan Options

You can also modify configurable options for your current plan, such as:

  • Backup options
  • Additional storage
  • Extra cPanel account allocations (for reseller plans)
  • VPS resources (CPU, RAM, disk space)

These options will vary depending on your hosting plan.
