Creating an Email Account in cPanel (Firstserv Guide)

This guide explains how to create a new email account for your domain using cPanel.

✅ You can create email addresses for:

  • Primary domains
  • Subdomains
  • Addon domains
  • Alias domains

Step-by-Step: Create a New Email Account


Step 1: Open Email Accounts

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Navigate to the Email section
  3. Click Email Accounts

Step 2: Click “Create”

  • Click the + Create button to begin adding a new email account

Step 3: Enter Account Details

Fill in the following:


Domain

  • Select the domain from the dropdown
  • This is the part after the @

Username

  • Enter the email name (the part before the @)

Example:

info@yourdomain.com → Username = info

Password Options

You have two choices:

Set Password Manually

  • Enter your preferred password

Send Setup Link

  • Enter an alternative email address
  • A link will be sent allowing the user to set their password securely

Password Tips

  • Use the Generate button for a secure password
  • Use the eye icon to show/hide typing

Mailbox Storage (Quota)

  • Set a storage limit (e.g. 500MB, 1GB), or
  • Select Unlimited

⚠️ Note: Email storage counts toward your overall hosting disk space


Plus Addressing (Optional)

Enable Automatically Create Folders for Plus Addressing to help organise emails.

Example

If your email is:

info@yourdomain.com

You can use:

info+sales@yourdomain.com  
info+newsletters@yourdomain.com

✅ Emails sent to these addresses:

  • Still arrive in your mailbox
  • Are automatically sorted into matching folders

✅ Helpful for:

  • Organising emails
  • Identifying mailing list sources
  • Spotting spam or data leaks

Welcome Email (Optional)

  • Choose whether to send a welcome message
  • This contains setup instructions for the new mailbox

Step 4: Create the Account

  • Click + Create

✅ Your new email account is ready immediately


What to Do Next

  • Log in via webmail, or
  • Set up your email in a client (Outlook, iPhone, Gmail, etc.)

Summary

To create an email account:

  1. Go to cPanel → Email Accounts
  2. Click Create
  3. Enter domain, username, and password
  4. Set storage quota and optional settings
  5. Click Create
