Managing Email Passwords & Mailbox Quotas (Firstserv Guide)

This guide explains how to update your email password or adjust your mailbox size (quota) from within cPanel.


Accessing cPanel

You can log in to cPanel either:

  • Directly using your cPanel credentials, or
  • Via the Firstserv Client Area:
    1. Go to Services → My Services
    2. Click Launch cPanel next to your hosting plan

Changing an Email Password

Step-by-Step

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Navigate to the Email section
  3. Click Email Accounts
  4. Find the email address you want to update
  5. Click Manage

Update Password

  • Enter a new password in the New Password field

✅ You can also:

  • Click Generate to create a secure password
  • Use the eye icon to show or hide the password while typing

Save Changes

  • Click Update Email Settings

✅ Your new password is now active


Changing Mailbox Quota (Storage Limit)

Mailbox storage counts towards your overall hosting disk space, so it’s important to manage usage carefully.


Step-by-Step

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Go to Email → Email Accounts
  3. Click Manage next to the mailbox

Adjust Storage

  • Set a custom quota (e.g. 500MB, 1GB, etc.), or
  • Select Unlimited (subject to your overall hosting limits)

Save Changes

  • Click Update Email Settings

✅ The new quota will apply immediately


If a Mailbox Is Full

If a mailbox exceeds its quota:

Options

  • ✅ Delete old emails via:

    • Webmail
    • Email client (e.g. Outlook, Gmail app)
  • ✅ Use cPanel tools to clean up older messages
