Migrating a WordPress Site Using Softaculous or Installatron (Firstserv Guide)
Firstserv provides both Softaculous and Installatron within cPanel, making it quick and easy to import an existing WordPress website from another host.
Using Softaculous or Installatron
Both tools allow you to:
- ✅ Import an existing WordPress site from a remote server
- ✅ Automatically configure your database and files
- ✅ Simplify the migration process
You can access these tools in:
- cPanel → Softaculous Apps Installer, or
- cPanel → Installatron Applications Installer

Step 1: Import Your WordPress Site
- Choose either Softaculous or Installatron
- Use the Import / Clone / Remote Import option
- Enter your existing website details
- Complete the import process
✅ Your WordPress site will be copied to your Firstserv hosting account
Step 2: Test Your Website
Before updating your domain, it’s important to test the migrated site.
✅ Check:
- Pages and content
- Images and styling
- Plugins and functionality
👉 You can preview your site using a temporary URL or by editing your hosts file.
Step 3: Update Your DNS
Once you’re happy that everything is working correctly, update your domain to point to Firstserv.
You can do this in two ways:
✅ Option 1: Update Nameservers
- Point your domain to Firstserv’s nameservers
✅ Option 2: Update A Records
- Point your domain’s A record to your Firstserv server IP
⏱️ DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate.
