Database Not Showing in phpMyAdmin (Firstserv Guide)

If you’ve just created a new database in cPanel, you may occasionally find that it doesn’t appear immediately in phpMyAdmin.

Don’t worry—this is usually a minor sync issue and can be resolved quickly.

Why This Happens

In some cases, phpMyAdmin can become temporarily out of sync with cPanel, meaning newly created databases may not display straight away.

How to Fix It

The quickest way to resolve this is to refresh the connection between cPanel and phpMyAdmin.

Step 1: Change Your cPanel Password

  1. Log in to cPanel
  2. Go to Preferences → Password & Security
  3. Update your password

Step 2: Log Out and Back In

  • Log out of cPanel completely
  • Log back in using your new password

Step 3: Check phpMyAdmin

  • Open phpMyAdmin again
  • Your database should now be visible

Alternative Checks

If the database still doesn’t show:

  • ✅ Confirm the database was created successfully
  • ✅ Ensure your database user has been assigned to the database with full privileges
  • ✅ Refresh your browser or clear cache

Summary

  • This issue is usually caused by a temporary sync delay
  • Changing your cPanel password refreshes the connection
  • Logging out and back in typically resolves the problem
